Who this guide is for
This how-to covers wallet-first options venues where identity is a blockchain account, actions are signatures, and custody of keys is yours. On OptionsMatch, Derive and Paradex are first-class examples in multi-venue live merge when feeds are healthy.
Wallet-first does not mean unrestricted. Geo and eligibility rules can still apply. Confirm on official sites. Match country pages are research aids only.
OptionsMatch is research-only: no seed collection, no custody, no requirement to connect a wallet to browse profiles or terminal desks. Connect only on official venue domains.
Non-negotiable security prerequisites
Read /education/wallets material: hardware wallets, software wallets, phishing, right-away incident response, and on-chain venue safety. Use a dedicated hot wallet with limited funds; keep treasury on hardware or cold storage.
Bookmark official venue URLs yourself. Never enter a recovery seed or private key into a website — not for “support,” “sync,” “airdrop,” or “OptionsMatch unlock.” Those requests are theft.
Prefer a locked-down browser profile for trading. Install minimal extensions. Reject unlimited allowances you do not understand. Full checklist detail lives in the wallet curriculum guides linked from /guides and /education/wallets.
Research path on OptionsMatch
Open /venue/derive and /venue/paradex for fit scores, geo notes, and enrichment (CoinGecko/DefiLlama/venue API fields when present). Use compare and find-venue tools if you are still choosing among wallet-first and CEX options desks.
Open Terminal desks under /t/{asset}/book or chain views; enable Derive and Paradex filters for supported assets. Compare marks and IVs against Deribit and other CEXs. Believe live vs degraded vs mock labels on sources and desks.
Only after product fit and rough liquidity look acceptable should you move test funds. Research-first reduces FOMO deposits into thin wings.
Onboarding loop (test everything)
Confirm eligibility on the official venue. Prepare hot wallet and browser profile. Connect via bookmark only. Deposit a test amount on the correct network and asset (often USDC-style collateral on newer linear venues).
Learn the options UI: select expiry and strike, understand margin, place a tiny order if appropriate, cancel or exit, then withdraw a test amount to an address you control. Scale collateral only after deposit, trade familiarity, and withdraw all succeed.
Session login signatures should not move funds. Treat unexpected spender approvals as stop conditions. If you signed something wrong, follow the right-away security guide immediately.
Derive and Paradex specifics

Paradex: Starknet appchain derivatives with expanding USDC-style options; OM pulls markets/summary style public data for supported assets when healthy. See /guides/paradex-onboarding. Bookmark paradex.trade-class official domains only after your own verification.
Neither venue is operated by OptionsMatch. Feed quirks and soft-launch labeling apply: partial merges are possible; honesty beats filled-in fiction.
Ongoing hygiene after you are live
Review token allowances periodically; revoke unknowns. Withdraw excess margin to cold or hardware-backed storage after profitable periods. Keep hot balances aligned with near-term options risk only.
Re-check official status channels during appchain or bridge incidents instead of signing “urgent migration” messages from social DMs. Urgency is a common phishing feature.
Use OptionsMatch continuously for multi-venue comparison, not as a wallet. If OM data is degraded, fall back to official UIs without connecting to unofficial mirrors.
Operator notes
Link wallet education aggressively from on-chain venue profiles and soft-launch banners. Free-first research should still push security-first sequencing: learn → research → test deposit → size.
Document Paradex and Derive adapter health beside CEX adapters on sources desks. Affiliate hops, if any, must still land on official domains with disclosure.
Never build product flows that ask for seeds. Dual chrome should make it easy to hop from Match profiles to /t books without implying OM can sign or custody.
